Do you feel like you can’t stay happy because once you do, something bad inevitably happens?
Does this leave you feeling “on edge” and in a state of anxiety or even feeling down and unmotivated?
If you said “yes” there is likely some trauma in your life that caused these feelings.
Trauma has a way of making us very alert, sometimes too alert, and this causes us to “overthink”. Perhaps, you have been able to “numb” all emotions which keeps you feeling “even-keeled”.
Not feeling your emotions is a form of survival and does not result in a positive relationship with yourself or others.
Sometimes we may feel like we don’t have anyone else to talk to about our trauma. We feel talking about it won’t change what had happened.
These experiences can leave a lasting effect on the beliefs that we share about the world, ourselves and our relationships.
Talking to a therapist can help you unpack the heavy intensity that these experiences have on your daily life.
As your therapist, I can help you identify common themes in your life by doing an intensive exercise that will reduce your time in counseling. I will identify key areas that have become a pattern in your life.
By doing these intensive exercises, when you feel ready, we are able to find the root of your discomfort and create a customized plan. My goal is to help you discover your authentic self and live your life to the fullest.
I will also guide you through the process of dealing with your trauma by helping you to create a toolkit as a resource for coping with past trauma.
This is a chance for you to share with me your concerns.
Together you and I will create a plan to help confront your trauma and heal.
I welcome the opportunity to help you return to a healthy lifestyle that is fulfilled and nurtures your mental health.
You will learn ways to self-heal through breathing exercises and other techniques I will share with you.
I know it can feel overwhelming, but it could be the first step you have been looking for.
If you are ready to learn how to let go, I'm here to help!
